As we prepare for the She Deserves More™ Brunch on November 8th, we are honored to highlight one of our featured speakers, Dr. Theresa A. Moseley—a powerful voice in leadership, peace advocacy, and empowerment. In this interiew-style spotlight, Dr. Moseley shares her journey, lessons learned, and the mission that fuels her work today.

Can you tell us about your journey and how you discovered your purpose?

Years ago, my great-grandmother told me, “Your gift is your voice.” I lived with her every summer for 10 years, and her words stayed with me. Later, on the day I graduated from college, my father told me, “You can do anything you want in this world. There is no glass ceiling for you.” He passed away six months later, and I was devastated.

But one day, he came to me in spirit and said, “Get up! I’m still with you. Go live in your purpose.” That voice scared me at first, but it became the driving force of my success. Everywhere I go, I remind people that we are spiritual beings here on earth in physical form to live out our divine assignment. Through prayer and perseverance, I discovered that the true key to success is using your gift to live in your purpose.

What is one important takeaway you want women to hold onto?

A woman must know her value and her worth. Don’t depend on others to define you or dictate your direction. Listen to your heart, pray, and the answers will come. Pursue goals that align with your gifts and aspirations—that’s where real fulfillment lies.

What obstacles have shaped your path?

In 1981, I was homeless for three days. I had gone to visit my father, and when I returned home, my roommate had moved out without notice. I prayed to God for guidance during that difficult time. Out of that experience, I created a blueprint for my life.

Later, I found myself owning two homes, driving luxury cars, and having money in the bank—but I still wasn’t fulfilled. It wasn’t until I started serving others that I discovered real success, fulfillment, prosperity, and inner peace. Life is a journey, and the lessons along the way prepare us to help others.

What is the mission behind your platform?

My platform is about empowering women to:

  • Discover who they are and what their gifts are.

  • Identify what they love to do and create a blueprint for it.

  • Hold themselves accountable, monitor goals, and network with like-minded people.

  • And most importantly, give back to the communities that supported them.

Through it all, I remind women to give all the glory to God.

How has faith shaped your leadership and message?

I was raised in the church, and I know the power of prayer. No matter what I’ve gone through, prayer has always been the answer. My faith has sustained me through trials and triumphs alike.

What is one piece of advice you live by?

Jeremiah 29:11 has been my anchor: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

What impact do you hope to leave on the world?

My legacy will live on through my books and speeches, but more importantly through the integration of peace principles in leadership. My goal is to influence women in leadership around the world and foster a culture of peace that will last for generations.
